What My Wife Hired My Nurse is about
Jake is 35 and has somehow broken both hands, which turns every ordinary task into a project. His wife, on her way out to work, books a home nurse and promises it’ll be some grandmotherly type in her sixties.
Then the door opens and in walks Mila: 30, blonde, in a blue uniform and clearly nobody’s grandmother. Whatever Jake can’t manage, she takes care of personally. And because his wife is out all day, she never actually lays eyes on the nurse she hired. Episodes 1 and 2 set up the arrangement; we’ll let you discover just how attentive the care becomes.
Who you’ll meet
Mila Nowak is the nurse: cheerful, unbothered and extremely dedicated, depending on how you define the job. Like every Candy Shorts character she’s AI-generated and a fictional adult, and she’s available beyond the series too. Chat with Mila for some one-on-one bedside manner.
Jake is the helpless patient, and his wife is the absent party whose assumption sets the whole thing in motion. Because he needs help with almost everything, even the smallest everyday task becomes an excuse for Mila to step in.
Why it’s worth your free episodes
It’s one of the funniest premises in the new batch: a man who literally can’t lift a finger, a carer who’s happy to do the lifting, and a spouse with no idea what she signed off on. Expect cheeky, comic tension rather than heavy angst. Similar stories live under wives and cheating and in our boss and workplace category, since Mila is technically on the clock.
For another “nobody’s supposed to know” setup, Room 742 begins with a hotel keycard opening the wrong door and spirals from there.
