Our verdict: 7.5/10
Candy AI, and Candy Shorts in particular, does one thing very well: it turns a quick scroll into a very late night. The vertical episodes are polished, the hooks are shameless in the best way, and the free episodes are real episodes, not trailers.
What keeps it from an 8 or a 9 is the meter running in the background. Every episode after the second costs tokens, creator series cost two and a half times as much, and long series add up fast.
| Category | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stories and production | 8/10 | Polished vertical video, strong hooks, more variety than the obvious themes |
| Free value | 8/10 | Two free episodes on all 129 public series, episode 1 with no account at all |
| Price once you pay | 7/10 | Cheap per token on the 12-month plan, pricey on creator series and long runs |
| Convenience | 7/10 | Works in any browser, one account for everything, but no native app |
| Overall | 7.5/10 | Easy to start, good value if you commit to the yearly plan |
The scores are our editorial judgement, based on Candy’s site, plans page and help center as checked on October 7, 2026.
$3.99/month on the 12-month plan, with 100 tokens every month: about two standard series.
What Candy AI is, in one paragraph
Candy AI is an adults-only AI companion platform run by EverAI Ltd: you chat with AI characters, create your own, generate 18+ images and videos, and watch Candy Shorts, its library of 142 vertical drama series (129 public, 13 members-only). One account and one Premium plan cover the lot. New here? Start with our explainer on what Candy Shorts is, and see every tool in our Candy AI tools overview.
What Candy AI gets right
Production built for a phone
Episodes are made in vertical 9:16 from the first frame, so they fill your screen the way a phone video should. Subtitles come in several languages, including English, French, German and Spanish, and some series also have dubbed audio. It feels like a product designed for the device in your hand, not a desktop site squeezed down.
The binge format
Episodes that Candy describes as roughly 1–3 minutes, mostly five per series, and a cliffhanger at the end of nearly every one. It’s the micro-drama formula, aimed squarely at adults. If you’ve ever said “one more” at 1am, you know how this goes.
A genuinely useful free taste
Two free episodes on every public series is generous. That’s more than 250 episodes you can watch without paying, and episode 1 doesn’t even need an account. Our free episodes guide shows exactly what costs nothing.
Real creators, licensed twins
Ten public series star AI twins of real adult performers who licensed their likeness, among them Riley Reid, Asa Akira and Lexi Luna. Candy’s help center says the twins are made in direct partnership and with full consent. Browse them on our creators page.
One account for video, chat and images
The same login and the same Premium cover Shorts, AI chat, 18+ images and video. Every Shorts character also exists as a chat character, so a story can carry on in your messages after the episode ends. Premium makes text chat unlimited and adds the option to create your own AI girlfriends; voice messages and AI phone calls run on tokens.
What could be better
Tokens add up on long series
Twelve tokens per locked episode sounds tiny, until you pick a long one. Finishing YES MA’AM takes 216 tokens; My Bestie Betrayed Me takes 384, nearly four months of Premium tokens for a single story.
Creator series cost 2.5 times as much
At 30 tokens per locked episode, a five-episode creator series costs 90 tokens to finish: almost a whole month’s Premium allowance on one show.
Cliffhangers built to sell
Episode 2 is engineered to stop at the worst moment. That’s good storytelling and very good sales. Just know it’s coming.
The spicy shelf hides behind a sign-up
The 13 members-only series show as blurred posters until you create an account. It’s free, but it’s still a wall, and their later episodes cost tokens too.
No native app
There’s no iOS or Android app; Candy tells you to add the web app to your home screen. It works and can send push notifications, but it’s not as smooth as a real app, and fake “Candy AI” apps and mod APKs are a genuine risk. Our app guide shows the safe setup.
No release schedule
Candy doesn’t publish a release calendar. New episodes simply appear and get flagged in the library (15 series carry the “New Episodes” badge right now), so if you’re mid-series you have to check back. Our new episodes page makes that easier.
Premium Plus is a black box
Above Premium sits Premium Plus, which Candy’s help center says brings 330 tokens a month, live audio, early access to new characters and extra chat features like memory slots and personas. Its price isn’t shown publicly, which makes it hard to compare before you’re already a member.
Prices vary by region
The prices in this review are Candy’s US prices. Local taxes may apply and prices can differ by country, so check the checkout before you commit. Candy also offers bi-weekly ($9.79) and weekly ($5.60) billing at checkout, both of which work out pricier per month than the regular monthly plan.
What it really costs
| How you watch | What you pay | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Episodes 1–2 of all 129 public series, 5 chat messages, 1 character, 1 image |
| Premium, 12 months | $3.99/month, billed $47.88 a year | 100 tokens a month: about two standard series, or one creator series |
| Premium, 3 months | $8.99/month, billed $26.97 | The same 100 tokens a month |
| Premium, 1 month | $9.99 first month, then $13.99/month | The same 100 tokens a month |
On the yearly plan, a standard series uses 36 of your 100 monthly tokens, which works out to about $1.44 of your subscription. That’s the sweet spot. Our price guide runs the numbers for every plan.
Is Candy AI legit?
Yes. Candy Shorts is part of Candy AI, operated by EverAI Ltd, and your bank statement shows “EverAI”, not “Candy”. Depending on your country you can pay by card, crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer, and you can cancel any time from Profile → Settings → Unsubscribe while keeping your tokens and unlocked episodes.
Refunds are tight, though. Candy’s help center allows them within 24 hours, for card payments, if you’ve used 20 tokens or fewer. Our safety guide covers privacy and how to spot fake Candy sites.
Is Candy AI good for you? Who it’s for
You’ll love it if you…
- enjoy short, tension-heavy drama and you’re fine with 18+ fiction;
- want to watch a creator’s AI twin in a storyline, then chat with her;
- will finish two or more series a month, where the yearly plan shines.
Skip it, or stay free, if you…
- want explicit clips without any story: this is drama first;
- hate paying per episode;
- only watch one series a year. The free episodes plus a single month will do.
Final word
Start free. Episode 1 costs nothing, episode 2 costs a sign-up, and that’s enough to know whether a series has you. Try episode 1 free on Candy AI, and if you’re hooked, the 12-month plan is the smart way to pay.
