Does Candy AI have an app?
Not the kind you download from a store. Candy AI has no native iPhone or Android app, and its help center says so plainly. The official route is to install the website as a web app: an icon on your home screen that opens full-screen, just like any other app.
That’s not a downgrade. The web app plays the exact same library as the website, with the same account, the same free episodes and the same Premium. There’s no store download, nothing to update by hand, and it’s ready in a few taps.
Open the official site, add it to your home screen, and play episode 1 free. No account needed for the first episode.
Why no store app? Candy doesn’t say. The likely reason is app-store rules on adult content, and Candy Shorts is strictly 18+. Either way, the web app is the only official Candy AI download there is, and technically it isn’t even a download. So when you search for a Candy AI app, what you really want is a shortcut to the official site on your home screen. Here’s how to make one.
Install the Candy AI app on iPhone or iPad
It takes less time than episode 1:
- Open Safari and go to candy.ai (or candyshorts.com). This is the route Candy’s help center describes.
- Tap the Share button, the square with the arrow pointing up.
- Scroll and choose Add to Home Screen. Rename the icon if you want something more discreet, then tap Add.
- Launch Candy from the new icon and sign in. iOS keeps the home-screen version’s login separate from Safari’s, so you may need to sign in once more.
Install the Candy Shorts app on Android
- Open Chrome and go to candy.ai or candyshorts.com.
- Tap the ⋮ menu.
- Choose Add to Home screen. Chrome may call it Install app instead.
- Confirm, then open Candy from its new icon.
Samsung Internet and other Android browsers tuck a similar option into their menus. Once it’s installed, the episodes play in their own window, free of browser bars.
Candy AI download on Windows or Mac
On a computer you don’t need anything special. Bookmark Candy and watch in your browser. If you’d like a separate window with its own taskbar or dock icon, Chrome and Edge can install many websites as apps from their menu; look for an Install option. Candy doesn’t document desktop installs, so treat it as a nice extra, not a requirement.
Our how to watch guide has playback tips for every screen, TV included.
Why install it instead of using a browser tab?
You could just keep Candy open in a tab. Installing the web app is still worth the few taps:
- Full-screen episodes. No address bar or browser buttons eating into the vertical video.
- One-tap access. The icon sits on your home screen like any other app, and you can rename it or tuck it into a folder.
- Alerts for new episodes. Push notifications only work once the web app is installed (more below).
- Nothing to maintain. It always runs the current version of the site, so there’s no update to download.
What it won’t do is change the price or the rules. The same episodes are free, the same ones are locked, and your tokens are shared between the app, the website and candyshorts.com.
What you can do in the Candy AI app
The web app is the whole of Candy AI, not just the Shorts shelf. Once you’re signed in, you can:
- watch all the public series, plus the 13 members-only Spicy series
- chat with the characters, since every Shorts character also has a chat profile on Candy
- talk to the AI twins of real adult creators who licensed their likeness, from our digital twins roundup
- create your own character, generate images and turn them into short videos with tokens
A free account includes up to 5 chat messages in total, 1 custom character and 1 generated image, per Candy’s help center. Premium unlocks unlimited text chat and 100 tokens a month. Our Candy AI tools overview covers each feature.
Candy AI mod APK and fake apps: why to skip them
Search “candy ai apk” or “candy ai mod apk premium unlocked” and you’ll find plenty of files promising free Premium, unlimited tokens and every episode unlocked. None of them comes from Candy.
The same goes for store apps that borrow the Candy name, whether it’s a short-drama app, an AI companion or a photo editor. Different company, different catalogue, and none of them can see your Candy account.
The tell is simple. Candy never asks you to install a file. If you’re holding an APK, an EXE or a DMG, it isn’t Candy. And if something promises what Candy doesn’t sell, like lifetime Premium, unlimited tokens or “uncensored everything”, it’s bait. Our Candy AI safety guide covers the wider scam landscape, and our uncensored guide explains why “full leaked episodes” are a trap.
Push notifications for new episodes
Candy doesn’t publish a release schedule. New episodes simply appear in the library with a “New Episodes” badge. The easiest way to catch them is to let the web app tell you: Candy’s help center says the installed web app can send push notifications.
- iPhone or iPad: open Candy from the home-screen icon and allow notifications when asked. A regular Safari tab can’t send them.
- Android: allow them when Chrome asks, or later in the site’s settings.
Want them discreet? Set the lock-screen preview to “when unlocked” or switch it off. Until the next ping, our new episodes page tracks what’s fresh; 15 series carry the badge right now.

Troubleshooting the web app
There’s no “Add to Home Screen” option. On iPhone, make sure you’re in Safari and scroll down the share sheet. On Android, update Chrome and check the ⋮ menu again.
It opens in a normal browser tab. Delete the icon and add it again from Safari or Chrome.
It logged me out. Sign in once inside the web app itself.
No notifications arrive. Check your phone’s notification settings for the web app, and make sure Focus or Do Not Disturb isn’t muting them.
An episode won’t play. Reload, check your connection, or try the other official site with the same login.
All set? Play episode 1 free and see how it feels full-screen. Our free episodes guide lists everything that costs nothing.
